Arugula Modern Continental Cuisine at The White Sands on Ocean Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach opened its doors in April 2015. Executive Chef George Edward, has expanded to this larger restaurant located on the second floor of The White Sands Oceanfront Resort and Spa. Chef George Edward, who was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, effortlessly combines elements of South American, Italian and other succulent flavors to tantalize your taste buds.  His culinary design is influenced by both culture and season.  He carefully prepares every dish to order, and when he is not in the heat of the kitchen; he can often be found circulating through the dining room where he enjoys mingling with his guests. He believes that those who enjoy his carefully-crafted creations and share their experience with others are his best form of advertising. Chef George Edward spent many successful years as the Executive Chef of DJ Basils and Executive Chef and Owner of George’s Grill in Brick. He also shared his palate pleasing talents with patrons at Moon River in Brick, and opened his latest restaurant, Arugula, on Bridge Avenue in Pt Pleasant, just a year ago. When Chef George Edward is not working passionately to amaze his guests, he is passionate about flying and holds a private pilot’s license. The White Sands has welcomed Executive Chef George E. Kretzu and Arugula at The White Sands into their family. He has begun to add yet another dimension to the existing tradition of White Sands excellence.
